"The Future of Nuclear Energy"

Many believe that the technology of nuclear energy is an important option for the United States and the world to meet future energy needs without emitting carbon dioxide and other atmospheric pollutants. Other options include increased efficiency, renewable, and carbon sequestration, and all may be needed for a successful greenhouse gas management strategy.

 

Christian Nadal (CEO of EDF North-America) discussed the interrelated technical, economic, environmental, and political challenges facing a significant increase in global nuclear power utilization over the next half century and what might be done to overcome those challenges.

This event was organized in cooperation with the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce at the Four Seasons Hotel. About 40 guests attended the event. It was our great pleasure to welcome guestspeaker Phil Wilson - Texas Secretary of State.

Phil Wilson gave a very interesting speech about the position of Texas in the global economy, its expansion and its strategy.

This event was organized in cooperation with the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce, the bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce, the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce and the Norvegian-American Chamber of Commerce. About 130 guests attended the luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel downtown featuring Larry Kellner.

 Larry Kellner, CEO & Chairman of Continental Airlines works with Continental Airlines since 1995 and took the head of the company in 2004. Over the past ten years, Continental Airlines has kept improving its clients satisfaction and is now financially recovered. Mr Kellner shared with us the keys of his success with Continental.

This luncheon took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, in cooperation with the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce, the German-American Chamber of Commerce, The Australian-American Chamber of Commerce, The Bilateral US-Arab Chamber of Commerce, the British-American Business Council and the Norwegian-American Chamber of Commerce. About one hundred guests attended this event in a great and friendly atmosphere. We were delighted to welcome Linnet Deily former US Ambassador to the World Trade Organization, who told us about her experience at the WTO. She insisted on the importance and the role of this organization and described the challenges it currently faces.
