Take advantage of our first 2010 Oil and Gas Committee luncheon to meet and mingle with other professionals in the Oil and Gas industry members of the French-American Chamber of Commerce. Committee members will be asked to quickly introduce themselves and present their company before the presentation by Mr. Abraham. The presentation will lead to a session of Q&A as well as a general discussion.

KURT ABRAHAM is Vice President of Development at the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers, the largest, statewide, oil and gas producers association in the U.S. He directs the Public Education Media Campaigns that are run across Texas by the Alliance’s Foundation for Energy Education. He also has oversight of the Foundation’s website and the Citizen Partnership program that provides basic information on industry operations to the general public. In addition, he plays a key role in shaping Alliance stands on industry issues and serves as a media liaison and expert commentator. Previously, Mr. Abraham spent 22 years at World Oil magazine, including seven as Managing Editor. He earned a B.A. degree in journalism and business administration from Texas A&M University (1980). He is a Past President (2006) and former Senior Regent of the Houston-based National Oil-equipment Manufacturers and Delegates Society (NOMADS). He is also a member of the Supply & Demand Committee of the Independent Petroleum Association of America.

Luncheon Topic: Mr. Abraham will address the following:
1. The outlook for the U.S. and worldwide upstream (E&P) oil and gas industry this year.
2. The “health” of the Texas upstream oil and gas industry, as represented in our “Texas PetroIndex.”
3. The Texas Alliance of Energy Producers’ lobbying priorities in Washington and Austin for this year.
4. The Alliance’s great concerns about what harm the Environmental Protection Agency could do to our industry, on the subjects of hydraulic fracturing of wells, and the handling of emissions of benzene from natural gas production.
