In order to be eligible for a J-1 visa through the FACC's International Career Development Programs, the candidate must:
- Be a foreign national (European for the VIE program) currently enrolled in, or a graduate of, a foreign post-secondary school or degree-granting institution.
- Speak English proficiently enough to participate in a professional exchange program in the United States.
- Be 18 to 35 years of age (18 to 28 for the VIE program).
- Have received an internship or training offer from an eligible host company that corresponds to his or her studies.
- Not have held a previous J-1 Training visa in the United States in the last two years (please contact the FACC if you have held a previous J-1 Intern or Trainee visa to determine your eligibility).
- Have medical insurance coverage for the entire duration of the J-1 visa per U.S. federal regulations.
- Agree to leave the United States upon J-1 visa program completion.
