To celebrate Francophonie Day & the French Cultures Festival, the French-American Chamber of Commerce, the French Alliance, the Swiss-American Society and the Belgian Trade Commission teamed up to give you a must-see Francophonie & French Cultures Festival BBQ!
This year featured: a Belgian Beer Tasting Class, Swiss Artists and Masters at Work, Broken Spoke Cafe BBQ...
A grand raffle gave our winners: A two hour (interior and exterior design)training with artist Barbara Brown, a session of French classes at the French Alliance & a pair of domestic tickets on Continental Airlines, Official Airline and Executive sponsor of the FACC
Broken Spoke Cafe prepared the traditional Guinguette menu with a Belgian Touch accompanied by the traditional “Bierre-Frites”. The weather permitted to all guests to enjoy this delicious BBQ on the French Alliance patio!
Mr. Dominique Chastres, Cultural Attaché Consulate General of France in Houston addressed the importance of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie and of upcoming events in Houston for the Festival .
The Belgian Beer tasting class presented gave us a unique chance to discover new aromas. Swiss Artists and Masters At Work showcased traditional Swiss artisanal professions and bring you inside the creation process. Barbara Brown presented specific painting instructions, Anne - Joelle Galley instructed on printing art & techniques, Katia Lieber displayed her "frivolites".
Dolores Bauman gave a wonderful and unique Swiss atmosphere by playing Swiss favorites with her Accordeon.
